How does everyone deal with their grief in recovery? It’s been one of the toughest things for me to navigate.

This one is definitely something we all need to talk about more often. I have taken a course (Mending Broken Hearts) which is amazing and beneficial, however doesn’t dive too much into tools to deal with grief and loss. I often heard elders say to go out into the woods and let it out and to be surrounded by trees. The trees are underrated in my opinion. Tree hugging is a thing. For me the grief doesn’t really go away. Every major achievement or award I get, I get sad because I wish I could see my mothers expression. I know she is happy for me in the spirit world but that doesn’t let me see her expression.

“Grief is the price we pay for love” I also heard “Its all the love we cannot give” Love hurts. But I found reframing my brain thinking that what im feeling is love. Its love I cannot give and it changes my perspective on processing
