Looking to build community with other recovery residence operators all over the country. Please message me so we can help more people!
I’m also looking for feedback from your personal experiences with sober housing- What was good, bad and things that you think would make great recovery residences. Looking to make our 11 houses the best around and more to come!!
Hi, I do not own a recovery residence but I do work @ an IOP with Lodging
Hey @awayout ! I was in a Recovery Residence for almost 2 years. It was the best thing ive done for my recovery. What made a difference in how well mine worked was a self governed community. We all felt ownership and went through the same treatment center so our pathways aligned. The one person who “ran” the house was a great pick and gave us autonomy and authority which went a long way with a house full of dudes. There were issues here and there but we all collectively worked to solve problems. I think it all stemmed from who “managed” the house. And I put that in quotes because he really did a great job of letting us have a say and put his ego aside. He just kind of coached us through making decisions.
My nephew was in a bad one. Zero accountability and regulation. Just a money making scheme, it was horrible. Quite a few people actively using and overdosing, wasnt a safe place at all.
My name is Marnie Perfetti. I am new to this group… I own two Level 1 Sober Homes for women in Morrison County.
I wish I could do something like recovery housing. But I take care of my kids my sisters kids and my mother. So it’s hard to find my own place. Because it wouldn’t make sense to move out when I’m needed here.
