Overcoming Self-addiction

I was introduced to alcohol by my peers during my college years. At first, it seemed harmless—a way to relax after exams and socialize. But soon, one drink turned into many, and it became a daily habit. My grades started slipping, and my family grew concerned.

It wasn’t until I was caught drunk driving that everything changed. My parents stepped in and sent me to a rehab center. The experience was grueling, but it opened my eyes to the damage I had caused.

When I was finally discharged, I made the tough decision to cut ties with my old friends who encouraged my behavior. I moved in with my aunt, who provided a stable and supportive environment. Each day is still a struggle, but I’m learning to take life one step at a time. My sobriety is a journey, not a destination. Forward I march.
