That’s amazing, Tashina! 1 year, 6 months, and 23 days is such a huge accomplishment—your strength and dedication shine through. Being a mother, grandmother, and caregiver to so many shows just how much love and resilience you carry. And on top of that, working full-time and keeping up with your fitness—truly inspiring! Traveling and the gym sound like great outlets for balance and self-care. Wishing you all the best on this new journey—you’re already proving how strong and capable you are. Glad you’re here!
Thanks. It really means a lot to have so many people in my corner.
@Niizhaandeg it makes such a difference! It weird but I always felt like people were in my corner when I was using, and I had no one when I got clean for the first few weeks. I lost a whole “support system.” thankfully I guess! The new support came slowly as I built new relationships and i’m so grateful for it.
I hear ya there! I think the beginning of my recovery was the loneliest part. I didn’t go to treatment or outpatient I did it on my own. So I kept to myself didn’t go anywhere where I thought I’d bump into my old using friends. If it wasn’t for my family getting me out there and engaging I think I would have really slipped into a deeper depression than I was already dealing with. That’s when I decided I needed more help than what I was doing. So that’s when I started therapy, going to recovery groups, traveling, and hitting the gym. Today I’m happier, healthier and blessed
Welcome aboard Tashina! My name is Luke. I have been sober for a bit over 8 years. My passion is the outdoors. I absolutely feel at home when I am outside in nature. I wish it was a bit warmer so I could be spending more time outside. Winter is tough.
That takes a huge amount of strength to do it on your own! So awesome! And now you’re here inspiring others! Nice work!
