Does anyone participate in any volunteer activities in the cities instead of hanging out with their family over the holidays? I need to get outta there as I don’t think i can survive being with them sober. I want to do something productive with my time.
Hey there @Gatsby
Here’s a couple of ideas regarding volunteering over the holiday season…and these are suggestions that are a mix of being outdoors, doing something productive, AAAAAAAND some of them not being around people ('cause sometimes people are exhausting, right?)

They have some really great programs throughout the year…even in the winter.
Community Action Center
This is based down in Northfield, MN but I’m sure there are similar organizations throughout the Twin Cities. I love volunteering here to stock shelves (soothes my OCD), sort produce, deliver or pick up donations.
This is super helpful!
I’m not sure where you live but around the Twin Cities there are opportunities to help in many of the shelters and in patient programs.
This is an example of one https://volunteers.ugmtc.org/
This is a cool one too, it allows you to pick your skill sets and then you volunteer with a org! Check it out.
Sharing and Caring Hands is always looking for volunteers also. I know I did Dorothy Day also. There is feed my starving children among other opportunities.
I hope my organization does toys for tots again.
That was a lot of fun!
Okay, this was very helpful!
Monday is the 3000 acts of kindness and they are looking for volunteers.
