Learning to forgive myself has been one of the most challenging but rewarding parts of recovery. I’ve realized that holding onto guilt only keeps me stuck in the past, while forgiveness allows me to move forward. By embracing self-compassion, I’m giving myself the grace to heal and the courage to grow into the person I want to be.

One of the hardest things to do is forgive yourself. I love how you mention embracing self-compassion. If you can not turn the shame into guilt, this process of beating yourself up is a really intense one.
