This is such a nice subgroup, I am here to encourage us to post under this post the following; I’ll also provide my personal snap answers.
How do you identify your mental health requires attention? Personally, it is paramount that people understand research shows addicts are usually prone to develop mental health problems due to imbalance in neurotransmitters. Therefore, keeping track of your feelings, mood is key. Motivation, suicidal thoughts, interest, guilt, energy levels, attention span, psychomotor function
I will add more as we interact but this is what to look for.
I usually can tell when my mental health needs some attention when I become easily annoyed at my family, or if I am super sensitive to what people say or do, even a tone of voice can set me off. I then realize I am taking a lot of things personally and need to step back and start to take more care of my mental health. It might be exercising, talking to a doctor, therapy, or other actionable things I can do. For me my anxiety shows up when I am not doing anything, so many times it is chipping away at my list of stuff, even if its just one item I find it helps. I also find that distracting and giving back or doing something for someone else is helpful.
Oh I like this one. It sounds weird- but if at the end of the day I think back on the day I’ve had and it’s really foggy… or distant…. Or hard to remember, I know I’m detattched and need to take better care of myself and focus on being present.
