What are some ways people can support others in staying sober and helping them continue sobriety?
Meeting them where they are at and not imposing opinions on their method of recovery
Being there for them when they need some support
Do some activities together, sober, to replace the activities that used to be done not sober
But I think the most important thing is welcoming a person into a supportive community that celebrates their sobriety
Hi @Chelseabush, I really cannot say that I have any good amount of clean time, since I still struggle daily. But in the past, I would show support by checking in with them every day or e/o day just to say hey, I’d let them know that I don’t judge anyone or any situation and that. If they need someone to listen. that I’d be there for them. I hope I can find my way again like I did before. I think for me, it’s too easy to escape rather than face the fact that I’m in dire need of help. I don’t know how to act sober. It just scares me. Sorry to ramble on. Take care. ~ g
